Mr. Jacob(Job) Glas is an engineer with the Masters in Business Administration.

Since June 2012, Mr. Glas is Head of Mission, Gujarat and Chief Representative of Netherlands Business Support Office (Ahmedabad), developing bilateral trade; Institutional cooperation between Gujarat and the Netherlands.

Mr. Glas has been working as a catalyst for Port of Amsterdam, Port of Rotterdam, Shipyards of the Netherlands, Maritime institutes, the largest cluster organization Netherlands Maritime Technology, etc.

In his earlier assignments Mr. Job Glas fulfilled several managerial positions within Europe, i.e. CEO and owner European consultancy firm 24Customer, CEO Euroclix (Amsterdam Exchange listed), Principal consultant at Intercai, Call Center Director pan European operations at Sykes (Nashdaq Exchange listed), Call Center Manager at HECC and Assistant to Director at Teleroute, Wolters Kluwer (Amsterdam Exchange listed).


Mr. Krishna Prasad is currently Managing Director of M/s Aster Marine Cargo LLC, Dubai. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and is in the Leadership Team of the Supply Chain and Logistics Group. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute Of Chartered Shipbrokers UAE Branch.

A Graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India (then Regional Engineering College) and a Post Graduate in Business Administration from the reputed Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, India. Mr. Prasad has over two decades of experience in commercial shipping. His wide ranging experience spans different segments of the shipping industry namely; chartering, ship-broking, ship-management, ship-operation, Container and Break-bulk Liner services and Forwarding.

Mr. Krishna Prasad has presented papers at many renowned International Seminars and Conferences in contemporary topics. He has also been a visiting faculty in many Institutes and Universities, in India and in Dubai. He conducts corporate training programmes and is a consultant in shipping and logistics. He has rendered consultancy services to trading, cruise and logistics companies.


Mr. Helge is Manager of Maritime Forum South of Norway and the SørlandetShipowners association. He has worked on several international projects for the EU's Interreg III and IV-programs: Germany, Croatia, China and Russia. He was also the Editor of Aust-Agder Shipowners Associations historical work "The role of the shipowner"-published 2008.

He has extensive experience of around 25 years of working experience with various management positions in several companies including industries such as insurance, banking, consulting and industrial enterprises. He graduated in 1975 from The Norwegian School of Economics with a degree In International Business Administration and Economics.


Mr. Uesono is Director for International Affairs Office at Shipbuilding and Ship Machinery Division of Maritime Bureau at Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Government of Japan.

MLIT's Maritime Bureau takes charge of development of shipbuilding and ship machinery industries, international shipping policy, ship inspections, development ofinternational and domestic technical standards of vessels and equipments on safety and environmentprotection, seafarer's labor relations and educational/training programs ofseafarers.

He is Master of Mechanical Engineering from Graduate School of Kyushu University, Japan. He joined Ministry of Transport (MOT) in 1986 and assisted Director, Inspection and Measurement Division, Maritime Technology and Safety Bureau, Ministry of Transport (MOT, former MLIT).

He has served as JICA Expert for Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippines and also as Director, Shipbuilding Division, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Singapore Office


Mr. Krishna B.Kotak, is the Chairman of J.M.Baxi group of companies, abusiness house synonymous with the logistics industry in India.

Joining thefamily business at an early age of 18 years, Mr.Kotak has over three decadesof experience in shipping, logistics and other transportation industries.

Mr. Kotak has successfully spearheaded the Group's growth anddiversification from ship agency to project cargo movement, bulk andcontainer port infrastructure, container freight stations, inland containerdepots, container rail operations, and other logistics businesses, enablingJ.M.Baxi& Co. to emerge as the largest logistics solutions provider in thecountry today.

Under his leadership J. M.Baxi has undertaken pioneering works inIndia in many transportation businesses like heavy lift movements acrossrivers, handling first container at inland location in India, movement ofcontainers by train, etc. His in-depth knowledge of the Indiantransportations sector, his diverse experience, business acumen, and keenforesight of businesses have contributed significantly to the growth of J.M.Baxi in all segments of the transportation business.


Mr. Prakash R. Tulsiani is the Managing Director for APM Terminals Pipavav (Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited) since January 1, 2009.

Mr. Tulsiani comes with a financial education from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI – CA), and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI – CS), having completed his graduation in Commerce and Law.

Mr. Tulsiani started his career in Thailand with a trading and shipping company and joined the Maersk Group in 1993. He held various positions in finance, marketing, projects, sales, and line management within Maersk Line, Indonesia, before being transferred to APM Terminals Mumbai (Gateway Terminals India Private Limited) as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2005.

Mr. Tulsiani was instrumental in setting up Gateway Terminal in a record time from project stage to commercial operations. The terminal managed to cross the One million TEUs mark within the first year of its commercial operations.

During his tenure as MD of GPPL, the company successfully raised USD Million 100 through IPO and got listed on the Indian Stock Exchanges. Under his leadership the company turned around and became profitable in 2010 for the first time since its inception in 1998.


Capt. Unmesh Abhyankar is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APSEZ’s Mundra Port. During his tenure at APSEZ, Mundra port has leap-frogged from being 10th largest port in 2009 to the largest commercial port in India, surpassing all the major ports.

Qualified as Masters (Foreign Going) and having undergone leadership programmes, Capt Abhyankar has 35+ years of working experience. In recognition of his exemplary contribution, he was conferred upon AMA-Metro Chem Outstanding Manager of the Year 2013.


Mr. H. K. Dash, an IAS officer of the 1980 batch, has taken over as the Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi

He has in the past, headed both the GMB and the Ports & Transport Department in different capacities.

A post graduate in management from the Hall University of United Kingdom, Mr. Dash has a rich experience of over three decades of working in various State as well as Central government departments. Beginning his civil services career as Assistant Collector in Gujarat, Mr. Dash has previously held important positions like the Secretary of Food & Civil Supplies Department, VC & CEO of GMB, Additional Chief Secretaryof Ports & Transport Department, Chairman of Gujarat Water Supply & Sewerage Board and Gujarat Maritime Board just to name a few.


Mr. Raj Gopal, is an IAS officer of the 1987 batch andis heading Ports & Transport Department (Government of Gujarat)as the Principal Secretary.

He is graduate in law (LLB) and Indian History & Sanskrit. He has Masters in German Language and Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from UK. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Ecology & Environment. He has proficiency in multiple languages like German, English, Sanskrit and Gujarati.

Beginning his civil services career as Directorin State Tourism Corporation, Mr. Raj Gopal has held important positions like Managing Director (State Tourism Corporation), Municipal Commissioner- Rajkot, Additional Commissioner at Sale Tax Department, Development Commissioner- Gandhinagar, Commissioner & Secretary at Panchayats, Rural Housing & Rural Dev Department, Commissioner of Geology & Mining and also as Vice Chairman &Managing Director of State Road Transport Corporation. Since June 2012, he was posted asManaging Director, Gujarat UrjaVikas Nigam Ltd.


Mr. A. K. Rakesh, an IAS officer of the 1989 batch has been appointed as the Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat Maritime Board.

A Bachelor in Technology in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur), Mr. A. K. Rakesh brings to the position dynamism and leadership qualities honed by over 20 years of working in various State Government Departments.

Beginning his Civil Services career as District Development Officer of Bhavnagar, Mr. A. K. Rakesh has held important positions like Collector of various districts, Jt. Commissioner of SardarSarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd., Additional Secretary of Finance Department, Managing Director of Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd., Mission Director at the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department where he spearheaded the mega Nirmal Gujarat campaign and Secretary of Urban Housing just to name a few.


Mr. Palash Srivastava is an infrastructure specialist with a focus on structuring public private partnerships.

He has the experience of working on projects across a range of development sub-sectors including Transportation (Roads/ Bridges, Bus-Terminals, Rail-roads, Ports and Urban Transport), Industrial parks and Special Economic Zones, IT, Tourism / Leisure & Entertainment, Real Estate, Healthcare.

The nature of projects he has handled has ranged from techno-economic studies, infrastructure assessment and planning, project structuring, viability/ feasibility studies, to the formulation of Privatization / Economic Development Policy for governments. He has prepared Financial Models for a number of infrastructure projects varying in complexity from a feasibility study to investment banking and financial engineering notes.

As a part of his experience with CRISIL, IL&FS, Feedback Strategic Consultancy Services and Wilbur Smith Associates, he has developed his experience on a variety of projects such as Ports, SEZs, Toll Roads, Bus Stands and a host of other projects. He has experience of leading assignments of reputed clients like World Bank, USAID and ADB.

Mr. Palash has a close understanding of the role, objectives and activities of official development agencies and international financial institutions, particularly in the area of private participation in infrastructure.


Dr.(Capt) Suresh Bhardwaj is a Resident Director at Maritime Training and Research Foundation (MTRF) at Chennai. MTRF is a trust organization promoted by MASSA (Maritime Association of Ship Owners, Ship Managers & Agents). MTRF has recently won the prestigious Seatrade Award 2014 for contributions to maritime research.

Dr. Bhardwajwas a former Vice Chancellor of AMET (Maritime) University in Chennai.He has pursued a Ph.D. degree in Ship Operations & Management in Denmark and UK.

With 39 years of rich and varied experience in the industry, academia and research, his incisive insights lend flavours to his penchant for thought leadership.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (UK), The Nautical Institute (UK) and The Company of Master Mariners of India.


Mr. Shardul J. Thacker is a Partner at Mulla & Mulla & Craigie Blunt & Caroe. He heads the firm’s Banking and Maritime Practice group.

He has extensive experience in project finance and transactional project work - ports, construction and oil & gas. His practice extends to advising foreign investors on the legal and regulatory aspects of investing in projects.

He has experience in EPC contracts, take-or-pay agreements, long term cargo handling agreements/ charter parties, COAs, etc. He has been advising foreign rig owners, LNG Corporates, Terminal Operators on various regulatory aspects.

Mr. Thacker has a distinction of working on over 250 ship finance deals over the last 10 years including advising on Indian flagging, cabotage, tonnage tax, applicable taxes on SPVs. He is also India correspondent for Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly and has received Leading Lawyers Award from Chambers and Partners for Shipping and Maritime for several years.


Mr. Debashis Bir is a graduate from IIT Kharagpur and has extensive experience in the industry.

He is the Head of Business Development and Alliance Management (BDAM) for Pipavav Shipyard Limited. He heads all the Business Development activities for PDOC as well as the liaison activities with all the International partners of the firm.

Mr. Bir joined the Chowgule Group of Goa, as a fresh Naval Architect from IIT Kharakpur. During his 8 years of employment in the firm, he had the exposure to highly multifaceted marine/activities.

In 1991 he promoted a company for shipbuilding & ship repairs, namely Alang Marine Ltd, Bhavnagar in partnership with local business groups, to take over a shipyard owned by Chowgule & Co. Ltd, Goa. He took overall charge as Executive Director of Alcock Ashdown (Gujarat) Limited, Bhavnagar, in 2005.

He joined Pipavav Shipyard in 2007 as President (Shipbuilding Group) of Pipavav Shipyard Limited. He was re-designated as Chief Operating Officer, in charge of the Shipyard Administration, Revenue, Shipyard asset management and the Production functions, encompassing Ship & Machinery design, Merchant ship production, Defense ship production, Ship repairs, Offshore well head / production platform construction and load out. Mr. Bir has been playing a pivotal role at the Shipyard and delivered many successes. Recently he has taken a role as head of the Business Development activities for PDOC.


Raghuram has been a faculty at IIM Ahmedabad since 1985. He is the Dean (Faculty), IIMA from September, 2013. He was the Vice Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University from July 2012 to March 2013. He was the Indian Railways Chair Professor from January 2008 to August 2010.

Raghuram has a B. Tech degree from IIT, Madras; a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM, Ahmedabad; and a PhD from Northwestern University, USA.

He specializes in infrastructure and transport systems and logistics and supply chain management. He conducts research on the railway, port, shipping, aviation and road sectors. He has published over 30 refereed papers in journals and written over 150 case studies. He is currently publishing his sixth co-authored book.

He is a Fellow of the Operational Research Society of India, and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He has teaching experience at universities in India, USA, Canada, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Tanzania and UAE.

He has offered consultancy services to over 100 organizations including multilateral agencies. He is on the board of nine companies in the fields of infrastructure and logistics. He has served on various government policy making and advisory committees for the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Planning Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General, and the Cabinet Secretariat.

Raghuram was awarded (i) ‘Academician of the Year’ by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2012 and (ii) ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for contribution to logistics and infrastructure by EXIM News in 2014.
